About me
My name is Jolene. I am an integratively trained counsellor which means I can draw on a range of different therapeutic approaches to tailor our work to what suits you best. I’ve always been deeply curious about people and their stories, and that curiosity is what led me into counselling.
My own journey to finding my path in life wasn’t straightforward. For a long time, I felt lost and without a sense of purpose. This was until I experienced counselling myself. That first experience was a turning point. It showed me how powerful therapy can be in helping us regain control and find our way forward. It improved my life so profoundly that I knew I wanted to help others in the same way.
I’ve worked with a wide range of people, from those navigating everyday struggles to those dealing with more complex mental health challenges. My training in Psychology enables me to look at the whole picture of mental health, blending an understanding of human behaviour with integrative therapeutic approaches. This means I can help you explore not just the immediate challenges you’re facing, but also the underlying patterns that shape your experience.
I am diagnosed with ADHD and am also on the Autism spectrum. My lived experience of neurodivergence gives me a deep, personal understanding of the challenges they can bring. I work with many clients who are trying to make sense of their own diagnosis, whether existing or still being explored. Alongside this my training in Psychology has given me a solid grounding in the theory and science behind ADHD and Autism, allowing me to support clients with both lived empathy and professional insight.
